So, what have you got for dinner? :)
Speaking of having meals for dinner reminds me to the importance of soon learning how to cook. As a student newly arrived in Australia, I must learn to adapt things fast. Not only to the weather or the culture, but as well the food. Lucky, I am not having much a shock of difference, for my stomach is quite accepting to the Western-type of meals, in comparison to the usual food consumed by Asian or the Eastern-type of cooking.
For the first few weeks may be it is still assumed acceptable, but when it comes to a month living here and more, I guess I would really have to consider, for efficiency reason of not having too much money spent to buy for breakfast, lunch, dinner, or sometimes snacks and of course a cuppa coffee, that is, to learn how to cook, for me to survive! :D
So I will now put cooking in my list of a must-learn lessons. Anyway, since this is already my eighth post, you know how learning can be fun, when you realize, you have been sharing quite much. Fascinating. Speaking of seven days again as a cycle within a week, I guess it is about time now, past seven posts, after having consumed some meals of exciting information, it is time to share the obtained so others may as well be pad up for dinner and can sleep well with stomach full.
As I promised, I will tell you about the basic can be considered as important and necessary information of living down under in the Oz, especially here in Wollongong. Mostly, they are based upon my first seven days observation, and still be relating to how lucky I feel of having many blissful blesses in my life. Again, we are speaking of having blissful bless. So, you can as well start counting the many that you have today.
For God is So Merciful, and we are all considered very lucky people! :)
So where should I begin the journey from? Ah, the bus stop! That's a good start! Off we go, then? :D
First of all, I guess I am lucky, that Wollongong City Council provided free bus through the use of the Gong Shuttle, funded by the Wollongong University, it is a service that made easy and comforting to commute all around the city. There are two main routes based on direction. The free bus of 55A and 55C, for example, simply it means bus number 55 that runs Anticlockwise and certainly the other moves Clockwise. The buses pass through main streets, shopping places, schools, university, train station, the beach of course, and many other sites often to be visited by many, that obviously eased the passengers.
Secondly, imagine how much money I can save just for the cost of transportation only? Regular price of bus ticket here may cost no less than AU$3.70. If I need to take the bus back and forth campus everyday, in just one day, I would have spent AU$7.40. Meaning, within a week I would have to pay for AU$51.8! Multiply it by four, within a month I will lose AU$207.20! Now I can save those to pay for my housing rent! Many thanks to The Gong Shuttle! :D
That is just one lucky factor. Of course I can increase my rate factor of luck, if I also give more efforts into the making. Remember previous discussion about having greater chance of luck by working harder, better, smarter? Basically, I am speaking of learning how to cook again! As well as changing my ways of having food, instead of buying the served, why not buying the raw materials, which costs cheaper, and have it cooked by myself? :D
Just a simple calculation. If I can save AU$3.30 for the morning Latte I usually buy at the Rush, name of coffee stall in front of MacKinnon Building in the University of Wollongong, I can also save at least AU$10 for each time I buy breakfast or lunch, and could be more spent for dinner! Imagine if I have to spend around AU$30 a day to have my meals. That would be AU$210 a week, and AU$840 a month, for food only!
I would be starving to the rest of my following months here! :D
I definitely have to change!
I have to learn fast how to cook! :D
